Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, says he was denied entry to an All Progressives Congress (APC) Ogun East stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday at Adeola Odutola Hall in Ijebu Ode.

Daniel made the claim in a short video that has since gone viral online. In the footage, he is seen addressing supporters from his campaign bus, branded with the OGD/PBAT Movement.

Expressing surprise at the development, the former governor said he and his team arrived for what they understood to be an APC caucus meeting in Ogun East but were prevented from gaining access to the venue.

“We are here for our Ogun East APC caucus meeting, but surprisingly, we have been barred. We are told that we cannot enter. Let it be on record that whatever decisions are taken here today are null and void,” he said.

The emergency stakeholders’ meeting, convened by party leaders in Ijebu Ode, was expected to be attended by a broad spectrum of party figures, including deputy governors, current and former local government chairmen, councillors, and members of both the state and National Assembly.

The incident adds to growing tensions within the APC structure in Ogun East, particularly following recent political developments in the district.
