Coming on the heels of the crisis that engulfed Rivers State yesterday in which two persons were reportedly killed in a rally by Save Rivers Movement, Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, said on Sunday that Governor Amaechi would not rest unless he resigned.

Wike spoke at the thanksgiving service and inauguration of the Degema Local Government Area and wards chapter of the Grassroots Development Initiatives (GDI) held at the Agric Field, Degema, Akoku-Tori Local Government of Rivers State.

He vowed that anti-Amaechi would not rest until justice come to Rivers people, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is an enemy of the state.

Chief Wike advised the Save Rivers Movement, a pro-Amaechi group to always obtain clearance from the Police for their rally, as done by the GDI, even as he accused the governor of earlier harassing and arresting GDI members, until they had to seek for court intervention, which stopped him.

The minister added that President Jonathan had good intention for Rivers people, which he has demonstrated in the recent appointment of a Chief of Army Staff.
