The Diocesan Education Board of the Anglican Diocese of Mbaise has expressed profound appreciation to Chief, Barr., Dr. Engr. Success Akagburuonye, JP, popularly known as Akaraugo Mbaise, for the warm reception he accorded a delegation led by the Bishop of the Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Chamberlain Chinedum Ogunedo, JP.
The appreciation was conveyed in a statement issued by the Chairman of the Diocesan Education Board, Sir Chibuzor Ernest Enwereuzor (Ogbaturuenyi Mbaise), who also thanked Akagburuonye for accepting to serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the forthcoming Silver Jubilee celebration of Mary Sumner Juniorate, Okpofe in October.
According to Enwereuzor, the institution has, over the past 25 years, produced outstanding women who have emerged as leaders and professionals in different sectors across Nigeria.
He noted that many of the school’s distinguished alumnae are expected to attend the landmark celebration in large numbers, making it a memorable occasion in the history of the institution.
Enwereuzor described Akagburuonye’s acceptance of the invitation as another demonstration of his commitment to the advancement of education and the development of Mbaise and Imo State.
He said Akagburuonye had continued to inspire confidence among the people through his service and dedication, adding that many believe he has been divinely positioned to contribute significantly to the progress of the state.
The Diocesan Education Board also pledged its support and encouragement for Akagburuonye in his future endeavours.
“We give you all our support and encouragement on the journey ahead,” Enwereuzor stated, while reiterating the board’s appreciation for his generosity, accessibility and commitment to societal development.
The Silver Jubilee celebration of Mary Sumner Juniorate, Okpofe, is expected to bring together alumni, church leaders, education stakeholders and prominent personalities to celebrate the institution’s contributions to the development of women leaders over the past 25 years.
