The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of owing its staff more than 12 months’ salaries, urging Nigerians to reject the party and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The council made the allegation in a statement issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, and signed by its spokesperson, Dele Alake.

It accused the ADC National Working Committee, led by Senator David Mark as chairman and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola as secretary, of neglecting the welfare of party workers despite the party’s promises to Nigerians.

The APC council described the alleged failure to pay staff salaries for over a year as unacceptable, arguing that workers who depend on their earnings for their daily needs should not be subjected to such treatment.

According to the statement, the development exposes what it described as the insincerity of ADC leaders who present themselves as alternatives capable of rescuing the country.

The council further alleged that the ADC leadership, including its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was more interested in gaining political power than addressing the country’s challenges.

“A party that cannot pay its cleaners and workforce cannot be entrusted with our country’s affairs,” the statement said.

The APC campaign council also made allegations against Atiku over the payment of salaries to employees of his businesses, particularly Gotel Communication.

It claimed that workers in the former vice-president’s businesses had experienced months of unpaid salaries and other benefits, leading to protests.

The statement also criticised Aregbesola’s record on workers’ welfare during his eight-year tenure as governor of Osun State.

It alleged that his administration struggled to pay salaries, resorting to quarter-salary and, at times, half-salary payments. It further accused the former governor of neglecting pensioners for more than four years.

The council claimed that the alleged failures under Aregbesola’s administration contributed to hardship among workers and pensioners in the state.

Drawing parallels between the allegations against the ADC leadership and their previous records, the APC said it was not surprised by the reported salary arrears within the opposition party.

The ruling party’s campaign council subsequently called on Nigerian workers and voters to reject the ADC, Atiku and all candidates seeking elective offices on the party’s platform in the forthcoming general elections.

It argued that a political party aspiring to govern Nigeria must first demonstrate its ability to manage its internal affairs and protect the welfare of its workforce.

The allegations were contained in a statement issued by the APC Presidential Campaign Council. The statement did not include a response from the ADC leadership, Atiku Abubakar or Aregbesola to the claims.
