Kylian Mbappé delivered a sensational four-goal performance as Real Madrid defeated Olympiacos 4–3 in a Champions League thriller in Athens.
Olympiacos stunned the visitors early when Francisco Chiquinho fired in a 20-yard strike. But Mbappé responded with breathtaking dominance, scoring three times in seven minutes — the second-fastest hat-trick in Champions League history. He first latched onto a superb Vinícius Júnior pass, then headed in Arda Güler’s cross, before beating the offside trap to complete his treble from Eduardo Camavinga’s assist.
Real continued to press, with Aurélien Tchouaméni hitting the bar, but a powerful header from Mehdi Taremi brought the hosts back into contention. Mbappé struck again shortly after, poking in Vinícius’ pass for his fourth of the night.
Ayoub El Kaabi’s late header narrowed the margin, but Real held firm to secure their first competitive victory in Athens at the tenth attempt, ending a three-game winless run. The win lifts Madrid to fifth in the league stage, three points behind leaders Arsenal, while Olympiacos remain 33rd.
Mbappé now has nine goals in five Champions League matches—his best UCL season to date—and 22 goals in 18 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions.
