Real Madrid have confirmed that Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior has signed a new six-year contract extension, keeping him at the Spanish giants until June 30, 2032.
The Spanish club announced on Thursday that both parties had reached an agreement to extend the forward’s stay, describing him as one of the key figures in one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.
Vinicius, 26, had entered the final year of his previous contract and had recently been linked with a move to English Premier League side Arsenal. However, the Brazilian has now ended speculation over his future by pledging his long-term commitment to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Reacting to the announcement on Instagram, Vinicius wrote: “Eight years at the Bernabeu are too short… Six more years, and then forever,” reaffirming his affection for the club.
The Brazilian international has been one of Real Madrid’s standout performers since joining the club, scoring 128 goals in 375 appearances across all competitions. During that period, he has helped Los Blancos win 14 major trophies, including two UEFA Champions League titles and three La Liga crowns.
Vinicius also enjoyed an outstanding individual campaign in 2024, finishing as runner-up in the Ballon d’Or voting before being named FIFA’s Best Men’s Player later that year.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid also confirmed the signing of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from German side RB Leipzig as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
