Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Monday held a closed-door meeting with the Interim National Working Committee (INWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at his office in the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan.

The meeting was attended by key party leaders, including the INWC Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN; Chairman of the Party’s Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator Adolphus Wabara; and the Interim Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, among others. The delegation reportedly arrived the state around 11 a.m. and proceeded directly to the governor’s office.

Sources indicated that the visit was primarily a condolence call following the recent kidnapping and killing of teachers and pupils in Oyo State, a tragedy that has drawn nationwide attention and concern.

However, political observers note that such meetings could also include discussions on party matters, especially in the context of preparations for the forthcoming general elections.

The meeting reflects the PDP’s continued engagement with state leaders and underscores the party’s focus on both humanitarian concerns and political strategy ahead of the 2027 polls.
