Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the names of its candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The public notice, signed by Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, listed 24 House of Representatives candidates and 40 State Assembly aspirants.

Leading the list are Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, who emerged unopposed for Agege Federal Constituency, James Abiodun Faleke for Ikeja Federal Constituency, and Babajimi Benson for Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

Other notable winners include Muftau Egberongbe (Apapa), Moses Olanrewaju (Amuwo-Odofin), Adeyemi Alli (Mushin I), Oluwatosin Fayinka (Mushin II), and Fuad Kayode Laguda (Surulere I). Olabisi Adebanjo emerged as the only female candidate among the 24 House of Representatives nominees, representing Alimosho.

On the State House of Assembly front, Barakat Bakare-Odunuga defeated incumbent Desmond Elliott to clinch the Surulere I ticket, while Damilola Ayinde-Marshall, daughter of Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde, secured Surulere II. Mojisola Meranda and Musibau Lawal won the Apapa I and II tickets, respectively, with Oluwagbenga Abiola Omaco, Shakiru Enimakure, Saheed Bankole, and Gbolahan Yishawu among other winners.

The final list comes amid widespread allegations of irregularities during the primaries, including candidate imposition, voter intimidation, and disruption of the process in several wards, particularly in Lagos Mainland, Apapa Road, Makoko, Iwaya, and Adekunle.

Despite these tensions, the Lagos APC affirmed that all primaries were conducted in accordance with the Electoral Act, 2026, using either direct or consensus methods. An Appeals Committee continues to address petitions arising from the exercise.
