Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the announcement on Monday during a press conference at his office in Ikeja, Lagos. Jandor explained that internal crises and lack of discipline within the PDP led to his resignation. He expressed disappointment with the party’s failure to address anti-party activities during the 2023 elections.

“We were working with perennial political saboteurs, but we have chosen to prioritize our future over the past,” Jandor said. After extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and well-meaning Lagosians, he concluded that the APC offers the best chance to achieve electoral success and contribute to the state’s development.

Jandor also consulted with leaders from other parties, including the Social Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress, and Young Progressive Party, before deciding to return to the APC.

Addressing concerns about his previous departure from the APC, he likened his experience to a Yoruba adage: “If a woman has not tried two husbands, she may not know which is better.” He emphasized that the APC, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, prioritizes winning for its members, in contrast to the PDP’s disunity.

He thanked President Tinubu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Seyi Tinubu for encouraging him to return to the APC. Jandor assured his supporters that this decision is in the best interest of Lagos and reaffirmed his commitment to the state’s progress.

“We remain committed to the values of service, integrity, and progress,” he concluded.
