Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primaries slated to hold on the 14th of April, 2023, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has acknowledged the growing tension among the gubernatorial aspirants on the Platform of the party with an assurance that he would ensure fairness and level play field for all aspirants
In a meeting held on Saturday with Kogi APC gubernatorial aspirants, and other stakeholders in the party, Our Correspondent reliably gathered that the governor promised fair play field in Kogi APC governorship primaries.
He advised all aspirants to warn their followers and supporters on their actions and comments, stressing that there are modes of primaries, namely direct, indirect, and consensus.
Governor Bello stated that he would start consulting all the candidates from today, and the party would speak.
He warned those going to court to desist and urged all those in attendance to be products of the system and not mess with the system when the choice is made.
In the meeting, the governor also stated that he has a good relationship with the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and hence, there are enough positions to go around — whoever wins will carry others along.
With these statements, the governor has shown his commitment to ensuring a free and fair primary election, and it is hoped that all aspirants and their supporters will comply with the directives to make the process peaceful and transparent.
