The family of the late founder of The Eagle Online, Oladotun Samson Oladipo, has assured readers, advertisers, partners and other stakeholders that the digital news platform will continue to operate despite his death.
The family gave the assurance in a statement signed by Taiwo Oladipo on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, expressing appreciation to those who had reached out following Oladipo’s sudden death on August 25.
According to the family, Oladipo devoted a significant part of his life to journalism and founded The Eagle Online in 2012.
The publication, it said, grew over the years into a respected digital news platform with a loyal readership, strong name recognition and the confidence of advertisers and commercial partners.
The family described Oladipo as deeply passionate about the publication, noting that he regarded it not only as a business but also as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.
“It is therefore important for us, at this difficult moment, to reassure the numerous readers, advertisers, partners and friends of The Eagle Online that the publication will continue,” the statement said.
The family disclosed that Oladipo had made provisions for business continuity before his death.
“In line with best practices, Dotun had foresight to have put in place some form of a business continuity plan. That plan has now been activated and is being refined to sustain the publication in line with his vision,” it said.
The Oladipo family said it was conscious of the trust readers and business partners had placed in The Eagle Online and expressed its determination to preserve the late publisher’s legacy while ensuring that the publication continues to grow.
It also assured advertisers and commercial partners that existing relationships and commitments remained important to the family and that it looked forward to their continued support during the transition.
The family, which said it was still mourning the loss, appealed for prayers, understanding and continued support.
“Dotun may have left us, but the work to which he devoted so much of his life will continue.
“The Eagle Online will continue to fly,” the statement concluded.
