Kogi Pledges to Encourage People With Self-help Spirit

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has assured that the state government will continue to encourage people with the spirit of self-help development as part of their efforts towards the transformation of their immediate society.

The Deputy Governor also maintained that government will not relent in rewarding hard work tagarted at making life better for citizens.

Chief Onoja gave the assurance at Inele -Ugoh in Olamaboro local government area of kogi state while inspecting projects of a Non governmental organisation, Enemona Just foundation in the community at the weekend.

He said the young man incharge of the Foundation, Gabriel David has impressed the world by his empowerment and employment programmes which had touched many lives within his Community and the flank of kogi east .

Chief Onoja said of particular interest was his empowerment programmes that was tailored to alleviate the sufferings of widows, orphans and other group of downtrodden in the society of kogi east .

The Deputy Governor stressed further that the church building which the foundation has embarked upon underscores the religious harmony that the state is presently enjoying via the Governor’s balanced religious harmony posture .

He therefore, called on the youths in Kogi East to align themselves with people that has vision to serve humanity better rather than involving in social vices that negates lives .

In his remarks, Gabriel David said the foundation is a Non-Governmental Organisation, founded out of share vision for the vulnerable in the society , and with passion for the less privileged, community development and nation building.

“Our aim is to improve the quality of lives of less privileged women, youth and children in our communities”, he said.

He added that the 600 capacity church building being constructed by the foundation at Inele -ugoh will be donated to the United Evangelical Church (UEC) by April to serve the spiritual need of people of the community, particularly to keep the youths off crimes and to get many closer to God.
