Two policemen killed in a hit-and-run incident in Osun State have been identified as Lance Corporal Oluwatobiloba Odedina and Kehinde Adeleke.
The officers were reportedly crushed to death at Oogi community in Ayedaade Local Government Area while returning home from official duty.
The driver of the Lexus vehicle involved in the incident allegedly abandoned the car and fled the scene to escape being mobbed by angry residents.
However, following a police manhunt, the suspect, identified as Adegoke Tee, was arrested on Friday.
Confirming the arrest, the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the suspect had been taken into custody and the case transferred to the Traffic Unit in Osogbo for further investigation.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, with many calling for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and justice for the deceased officers.
