A federal judge in the United States has reportedly been reprimanded over inappropriate relationship with a senior police officer inside court chambers during working hours.

According to reports by the New York Post and Bloomberg, Judge Eleanor Ross of the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia received a private disciplinary warning following claims that the relationship created an uncomfortable atmosphere for court staff and raised concerns about professional conduct.

The report alleged that the relationship lasted between 2023 and 2025 and involved meetings inside the judge’s chambers during official working hours. Law clerks reportedly complained about hearing disturbing sounds from inside the office, while investigators described the situation as demonstrating “a gross lack of judgment.”

The judicial conduct committee also noted that the relationship with the unnamed police commander posed a possible conflict-of-interest risk.

Judge Ross, 58, was nominated by former US President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2014. Before joining the federal bench, she served as a prosecutor and state court judge in Georgia.

Ross also presided over the 2022 fraud trial of reality television personality Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley. The couple was convicted on charges including bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion. Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison before later receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.

Reacting to the latest revelations, Chrisley criticized the judge on social media and called for her impeachment.

The judicial report did not recommend public sanctions, but the allegations have generated widespread debate over ethics and conduct within the US judiciary.Headline Suggestions:
