A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years’ imprisonment over corruption linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.

Justice James Omotosho found Mamman guilty on a 12-count charge and ruled that the prison terms would run consecutively, resulting in a total sentence of 75 years.

The court further ordered that the sentence shall take effect from the day the convict is arrested. It also directed all security agencies to apprehend him wherever he is found.

In addition, the judge ordered the forfeiture of all monies and properties recovered from the former minister to the Federal Government. Mamman was also instructed to refund the outstanding balance of funds tied to the alleged ₦22 billion fraud connected to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric projects.
