In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, the party said the schedule was approved by its National Working Committee in line with the timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.

According to the timetable, the sale and submission of expression of interest forms began on April 20 and will end on May 8. Screening of aspirants is slated for May 11 for National Assembly hopefuls, May 12 for State Houses of Assembly, and May 13 for governorship candidates.

Nomination forms will be available from May 14 to May 21, while the party’s primary elections will be conducted on May 23 across wards using the Option A4 voting system. Appeals arising from the primaries are scheduled for May 28.

APGA also released the cost of its nomination process. Expression of interest forms are pegged at ₦25 million for the presidency, ₦6 million for the Senate, ₦4 million for the House of Representatives, ₦10 million for governorship, and ₦2 million for State Assembly seats. Nomination forms cost ₦50 million for the presidency, ₦15 million for Senate, ₦12 million for the House of Representatives, ₦25 million for governorship, and ₦6 million for State Assembly positions.

The combined cost of the presidential expression of interest and nomination forms brings the total to ₦75 million, with aspirants required to complete the initial process and screening before purchasing nomination forms.

The timetable marks a key step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections, with its adoption of Option A4 expected to enhance transparency in the selection of candidates.
