Disc jockey Kudirat Gbemisola, popularly known as DJ Kulet, has opened up about her past, revealing she once lived a troubled life that included prostitution before embracing Christianity.

Speaking during a church testimony and in a follow-up Instagram post, the Lagos-based DJ recounted how she struggled with homelessness and survived on the streets, particularly in the Lawanson area of Surulere. She described her journey as a transformation “from a mess to a message,” highlighting how her life gradually improved over time.

According to her, her early years were marked by hardship, moving from being homeless to staying in a one-room apartment funded by a benefactor, and later a self-contained apartment through similar support. She said she eventually began to earn a stable income through her work as a DJ, despite facing challenges such as living in a building without toilet facilities for two years.

Kulet explained that her fortunes later changed significantly, enabling her to move into a four-bedroom en-suite apartment through her career. She added that in April 2024, she was able to purchase her own house in Surulere, stressing that the property was fully paid for without relying on her former lifestyle.

She credited her transformation and progress to her faith, saying her life story reflects a journey of personal change and renewal.
