Tottenham Hotspur ended Leeds United’s remarkable 23-game unbeaten home streak with a hard-fought 2–1 victory at Elland Road on Saturday, thanks to a goal and assist from Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghanaian playmaker played a starring role as Mathys Tel opened the scoring midway through the first half. Kudus slipped a precise through ball into Tel’s path, whose shot deflected past Karl Darlow to give Spurs the lead.

Leeds responded when Brenden Aaronson’s strike was parried by Guglielmo Vicario, allowing Noah Okafor to tap in the rebound for the equaliser.

Tel nearly restored Tottenham’s advantage moments before halftime, heading against the crossbar from Wilson Odobert’s delivery.

After the break, Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed two golden chances to put Leeds ahead, and they were punished when Kudus fired home Spurs’ winner just before the hour mark. His low strike deflected off Pascal Struijk and nestled in the bottom corner.

Leeds pressed late on, but Vicario denied substitute Joël Piroe in stoppage time to preserve the win.

Manager Thomas Frank’s decision to rotate his squad — leaving out regular starters Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, and Lucas Bergvall — paid off as Spurs’ defensive structure held firm under early pressure.

The victory lifts Tottenham to second in the Premier League table, while Leeds’ first home defeat in nearly two years leaves them reflecting on missed chances and defensive lapses.
