Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shared her thoughts on the romantic shortcomings of Nigerian men, suggesting that while they may be stylish and generous, they often fall short in the romance department.
In a recent episode of Thoughts In A Culli, the Water and Garri hitmaker praised Nigerian men for their confidence and ability to spend lavishly but said these traits don’t equate to meaningful romantic gestures.
“Nigerian men have swag, no doubt, and they know how to splash money. But when it comes to being genuinely romantic, they miss the mark. That’s not what I’m looking for,” she said.
Tiwa Savage rose to prominence in 2010 with her breakout single Kele Kele Love and has since become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated artists, earning several international accolades.
She married music executive Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun in 2013, and they welcomed their son, Jamal, in 2015. The couple divorced in 2018.
