It was a dramatic title race six-pointer at the Emirates this evening, as Arsenal hosted a resurgent Manchester City side in a drama-filled affair.

Two second half goals secured a statement victory for Manchester City, as they leap-frogged Arsenal to move back to the top of the table with the result.

It was a frantic atmosphere inside of the Emirates from the start, as both teams looked to feel each other out.

Arsenal were the first to sniff out the first few chances in front of goal, but City looked ever-threatening on the break in response.

A lengthy malaise was broken by a defensive mistake from Takehiro Tomiyasu, whose back pass was miss-hit allowing Kevin De Bruyne to pounce and slot home to snatch a lead for City.

While it looked like City were set to take their lead into the break, the game was turned on it’s head in the final five minutes, as Arsenal were awarded a penalty-kick for an Ederson challenge on Eddie Nketiah.

Bukayo Saka stepped up and dispatched the spot-kick to level the scoreline in dramatic fashion.

City started the second half on the front-foot, and looked to have a penalty-kick of their own when Erling Haaland was taken down by Gabriel Magalhães, but the play was blown dead after a VAR check revealed the Norwegian was offside in the build up.

With the magnitude of the occasion looming above the players, the game slipped into another cagey period with neither side looking to open up.

As the City pressure began to increase, the Blues capitalised and reclaimed their lead. After a slick counter-attacking move, Jack Grealish side-footed home quiet the crowd in style.

It got even better for the visitors when Kevin De Bruyne picked out Erling Haaland in the final 10 minutes, and the striker fired the ball into the bottom corner to double City’s lead.

Arsenal pushed to claw their way back into the game, but City held on for a statement victory on enemy soil, sending the Blues back to the summit of the Premier League.
