A first-class traditional ruler in Plateau State, Isaac Wakili, who was kidnapped by gunmen in the early hours of Friday has regained his freedom.
Some residents of the Shere community in the Jos East Local Government Area of the state where the monarch was abducted said he was rescued on Friday a few hours after his abduction.
One of the residents, Philip Izam, who confirmed the release of the traditional ruler on Friday added that he had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Izam said, “You know our traditional ruler was kidnapped by gunmen at his palace in the early hours of Friday but he has just been released. He was released a few hours after his abduction with the help of security men. He is not at his palace at the moment because they took him to the hospital for examination considering what he went through at the hands of his abductors.”
