Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 elections, Bola Tinubu has charged top campaign operatives to “fight”, “grab” and “run [away] with” political power.

Tinubu was seen in a video giving the charge to some top party leaders in London. He has remained in the United Kingdom after attending a Chatham House engagement earlier in the week.
Tinubu who is yet to sign the peace accord for presidential candidates said: “Political power is not going to be served in a restaurant. They don’t serve it a la carte. At all cost, fight for it, grab it snatch it and run with it,” he said.
Meanwhile, a public policy expert, Usman Yusuf, has berated Bola Tinubu and some members of his campaign team, including Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna for their recent showing in London.

Mr Yusuf, during an interview on Arise TV Prime Time Show, discribed the actions of the APC presidential candidate and some of his leiutenants, in the aftermath of the Chatham House presentation as “embarrassing, disgraceful and a tragic display of incompetence.”

“I don’t know if you saw the nonsense they were doing in that beer parlour dancing…I don’t know if you saw the video clip,” Mr Yusuf remarked.

“We in the North from Adamawa to Zamfara, we are still burying our dead. And the person who is aspiring to be a leader with his team, they are there in a beer parlour in London, dancing Buga and we are taking that clip and showing our people,” he added.

Messers Tinubu and Rufai were seen in a video that has now gone viral grooving to the popular ‘Buga’ track by songster Kizz Daniel.

Junior labour minister Festus Keyamo shared the video on Tuesday but the former Lagos governor has since come under fierce criticism.

Critics wonder why the aspiring Nigerian leader has refused to engage local interviewers but is at home with a UK think-tank, albeit carousing away after deflecting questions to surrogates at the Chatham House engagement.
