A Non Governmental Organization, Ayo Adun Foundation (AAF) and Millennium Christian Ministry (MCM), have empowered over 36 widows and awarded scholarships to 10 of their children from Nursery to Primary school level.
The foundation who trained the widows on skills’ acquisition such as Baking and Soap making, also distributed foodstuffs like noodles, garri, spaghetti as well as clothing materials to the widows.
Speaking at the event tagged, ”Widows’ Outreach” held at Millennium Christian Ministry in Lokoja, the Executive Director of AAF, Mrs Mercy Ayo Adun, said the outreach was organised to mark the 54th Posthumous birthday of her late husband, Pastor Ayo Adun, the founder of MCM.
According to her, the AAF was established to keep the vision of our founder, Pastor Ayo Adun of the blessed memory alive.
She stressed that her husband touched many lives, saying his driving force was affecting and impacting lots of lives especially the vulnerable people during his lifetime
She said the vision of the Foundation was in iine with the vision of the Millennium Christian Ministry which is to shine the light of God in the dark areas of the society.
She noted that the intensive skill acquisition training would continue for the next one week for thorough understanding.
The Foundation also offered cash donations to the widows to start small businesses.
Present at the occasion was the Senior Pastor of Emphasis Assembly, Pastor Mrs Maurine Frank, and Pastor Mrs Alice Halidu of Revival House Church, who both delivered messages of hope and encouragement to the widows.
One of the widows, Mrs Aisha Sanni, thanked the Foundation for the gesture, saying the materials given and the scholarship would go a long way to alleviate their suffering.
She prayed God to continue to bless the Foundation and the Church to be able to reach out to more vulnerable people and the less privileged in the society.
