Goods and property worth over N300m were on early hours of Thursday destroyed as fire razed down popular supermarket in Festac Town, Temple Hill Supermarkets. Temple Hills, located at 71 Road, is owned by Globus Supermarkets.
Daily Review Online gathered from eye witnesses that the fire started as a result of high voltage, after electricity was restored to the area after an outage.
An eyewitness said: ” Thefire started areound 12 am when NEPA brought light. It was a high voltage and the cables in the area caught fire immediately. The fire started on the third floor to the first and 90% of the goods inside were lost. Luckily, no staff or persons were inside.”

It was gathered that at 8am, the Fire Service in the area arrived but their effort was fruitless as they complained that they did not have enpigh water to continue. They spent about 10 minutes and left.
Efforts to get official reaction from the management of the supermarket did not yield any result.
