Independence Day: Kogi Speaker Charges Nigerians On Nation Building

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole has charged Nigerians to remain prayerful and focus on building a nation for all irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.

The Speaker said the country has many reasons to celebrate its 61 Independence despite the mirage of challenges confronting the nation, stressing that the word of God said, in all things, whatever the situation we should learn to give thanks to God.

He said though the country may not have gotten to its expected point in terms of development but commended the current administration under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for his doggedness, determination and commitment to put the country on the path of progress.

The Speaker said it is the responsibility of the citizens to support and cooperate with its leadership as that is the only way the country can have a headway, stressing that the country has the capacity to overcome the security menace if all and sundry cooperate and support the relevant agencies to tackle the scourge.

He also used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to support the presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello being the youngest Governor in the country who has achieved a lot across all sectors of the state economy, noting that Kogi State security architecture still remained very strong to put the criminals under check.

He said the State Assembly under his watch with his dependable colleagues will continue to make laws that will promote good governance in the state.

It is on this note that, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole on behalf of his family, Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, entire members of the 7th Assembly, management and staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly wish to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Yahaya Bello and indeed Nigerians for the celebration of the 61st independent of Nigeria as a country.
