Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, has thanked Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere for fulfilling his promise to donate laptops to the body.
Mr. Athan Agbakwuru, the Chairman of the Chapel stated this during the hand over of the computers earlier today when he visited the office of the deputy governor of Imo state.
He also commended Prince Eze Madumere for having always identified with the Journalists, as he has always in contributed in one way or the other even before venturing into politics, his antecedence Mr. Agbakwuru said most people are unaware of.
The helmsman of the body therefore promised to partner with Imo State Government in ensuring its activities and developments get the desired publicity and analyses for appreciation of the public
Speaking shortly after handing over the computer devices to the Correspondent Chapel Chairman, Special Assistant on Media to the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Mr. Uche Onwuchekwa, said the Number two citizen of Imo State appreciates the role of the media in nation building and therefore has always contributed and identified with them in whatever way he could to enhance their job while cushioning the challenges in the practice of journalism.
Prince Eze Madumere also encouraged the Chairman of the Chapel, Mr. Athan Agbakwuru, to continue to give an exemplary leadership and ensures his members uphold the ethics of the profession.
In his conclusion, he decried the dearth of investigative journalism, and therefore called on the practitioners to embrace the ethics of the practice, which he said he is too strategic to be left in the hands of quacks.
