Senator Patrick Osakwe has endorsed the governorship aspiration of Peoples Democratic Party frontline gubernatorial candidate, Sir Tony Chuks Obuh, describing him as a humble and intelligent gentleman who has been a key player in the PDP political engineering in Delta State.

Osakwe said Obuh has been sponsoring and financing various political pressure groups that have assisted the party in mass mobilisation of eligible voters for PDP victories in various elections.

Chief Osakwe told the huge crowd he assembled at his country home in Ndokwa West to receive the key governorship aspirant, that the PDP will queue behind the leader of the party in the state, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, for the consensus adoption of the most qualified aspirant.

He said: “He who the system says will be our governorship candidate will certainly be the one that will carry the day.

“It is either you are in or you are out, period.

“Those working against Governor Uduaghan are wasting their time.

“He is our party leader and we shall go with him in the present political dispensation.

“He knows the best among the aspirants.

“Governor Uduaghan has done well.

“Asaba International Airport is one of the legacies of His Excellency.

“His vision for Delta State is great and we need someone that is not the enemy of the governor to finish and improve upon the enviable performances of the Uduaghan administration.

“Tony Obuh is well known to me because of his key roles in government, particularly his silent but deep involvement in several PDP activities across board.

“I say here and now that my political structures in Ndokwa and beyond have today adopted Sir Tony Chuks Obuh as our governorship aspirant and come November 29, 2014, he will surely clinch the PDP governorship ticket, by the special grace of God.”

Speaking earlier, Obuh told the senator and political tactician that his success at the party primaries and at the polls requires the total support and push of Chief Osakwe’s political structures within the Ndokwa Nation and across board.

He said his sole objective of aspiring to the office of Governor of Delta State is to build on the huge success of Uduaghan’s administration and take Delta State to a higher socio-economic and political level.

Sir Obuh further asserted that Deltans will enjoy the dividends of democracy in a greater measure if elected in 2015, pointing out that his administration will focus on youth and women empowerment through vocational training, skills acquisition supported via the provision of initial take-off capital in line with the Delta Beyond Oil vision.
