A South African woman has allegedly been raped and then forced to take a bath in sewage water.

The alleged victim told the South Gauteng High Court that the rapist also stole her underwear, her cell phone and R100 (£5.70).

The unnamed woman – from Ivory Park, Midrand – said she was on her way home from work when she was approached and grabbed by the man shortly after 10 pm.

She said she pleaded the man to let her go as her three children were at home alone.

The man, however, allegedly threatened her with a firearm and then took her to a nearby bridge where she was forced to undress.

The woman told the court that her rapist used his hat to cover her face. However, she was able to see the man because the hat kept moving.

Defendant Justice Albert Morake, 34, denied the allegations of rape and said the woman was consensual. He added that he had met her a tavern.

Morake also pleaded innocent to all the 175 charges against him, which included 53 counts of kidnapping, 27 of robbery with aggravating circumstances and 12 of sexual offences.

The trial continues.
