Eleven persons suspected to be members of Red Skin Cult Group were on Friday remanded in prison custody for allegedly killing a 23-year man, one Abubakar Ja’afaru.
The police prosecutor, Sgt. James Owenye, told a Makurdi Magistrates’ Court that the father of the deceased reported the matter at ‘D’ Division Police Station on Aug. 11.
The prosecutor said the complainant reported that some cult boys, led by one “Fabulous”, stormed his area in the night on Aug. 10, shot and killed his son.
According to the  prosecutor, police investigation shows that one Gbenga Yusuf, Ayuba Musa, Safianu Nasiru (alias Terminator), John Ibrahim, Abubakar Yarinya, are allegedly responsible for the act.
Other accused included Sonnen Yangear, Dehin Gwa, Godwin Iorhule, Agee Atume, Melody Ohaji and Shehu Usman.
The prosecutor said they were arrested, adding that they confessed committing the crime while “Fabulous” and others were still at large.
Owenye said the offences were contrary to the Penal Code.
However, when the case came up for mention, the pleas of the accused persons were not taken for want of jurisdiction.
Prosecution informed the court that investigation into the matter to arrest the other suspects was still in progress and asked for another date for mention.
The Magistate, Mrs Franca Yuwa, adjourned the matter to October  7 for further mention.
She ordered the accused persons to be remanded in prison custody.
