President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for France, marking the beginning of a three-nation official tour.
The presidential aircraft took off on Sunday from the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The visit forms part of a broader diplomatic mission that will also take the Nigerian leader to Nairobi, Kenya, and Kigali, Rwanda.
According to the presidency, Tinubu’s first stop is France, after which he will proceed to Nairobi to participate in the Africa–France Summit, scheduled for May 11 to 12.
The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key issues such as energy transition, climate action, digital innovation, and economic cooperation.
Following the summit, the president is expected to travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, slated for May 14 to 15.
The forum will convene global business leaders and policymakers to explore investment prospects and strategies for economic growth across Africa.
The presidency noted that the trip underscores ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to strengthen economic relations and attract foreign investment through high-level international engagements.
