President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation diplomatic visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s international partnerships and attract investment.
According to a State House press release issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s first stop will be in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, where he will participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin next week.
The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to the global financing system.
President Tinubu is expected to attend the summit from May 11 to May 12, reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to deepening strategic ties with African nations and France. The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will bring together leaders to discuss economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and peace-building initiatives.
Following the Kenya engagement, the President will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to May 15. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic growth through regional integration and cross-border investment.
Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the forum is regarded as one of the continent’s largest private sector gatherings.
At both events, President Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s reform agenda aimed at positioning Nigeria as a prime destination for investment. He will also hold bilateral meetings with global and African business leaders.
The President will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
