President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, a distinguished academic and veteran journalist, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, commending his decades of service to academia, the media, and public discourse in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the President described Professor Adeniyi as a public intellectual of note whose contributions have had a lasting impact on journalism, communication studies, and public policy engagement.
Professor Adeniyi, a professor of communication and the current Registrar of Baze University, Abuja, has built a multifaceted career spanning journalism, authorship, media strategy, public relations, and public analysis. His work, President Tinubu noted, reflects a deep commitment to knowledge, capacity building, and national development.
“Professor Adeniyi is a public intellectual of note. He has made important interventions in public policy and facilitated numerous capacity-building initiatives,” the President said.
President Tinubu further acknowledged the celebrant’s role in shaping professional standards in the media and mentoring younger generations of scholars and practitioners.
He wished Professor Adeniyi many more years of good health, success, and continued impact in his contributions to national development and intellectual life.
The congratulatory message was signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, and dated January 1, 2026.
