Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends and members of the public to give his estranged wife and Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, space to recover, warning that those spreading false information about her could face legal action.

Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his Instagram page on Monday, November 2, 2026, expressing concern over the circulation of fabricated death announcements, misleading reports and hurtful comments about the actress on social media.

The lawmaker said Daniels needed love, support and an opportunity to heal rather than public criticism and speculation about her personal circumstances.

He also extended the appeal to bloggers and social media commentators, emphasising that their actions could further distress the actress.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.

According to him, Daniels had been through considerable difficulties and deserved understanding and support at this time.

“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he added.

Nwoko also referred to a video Daniels shared on her birthday, saying it provided an insight into some of the health challenges she had been experiencing.

He urged the public not to use her circumstances as an opportunity to judge, criticise or vilify her.

The senator further said the actress’s well-being had always been important to him, explaining that concerns about her welfare contributed to his decision to make certain aspects of their private situation public.

He expressed particular concern over social media posts falsely announcing Daniels’s death and circulating unverified claims about her health and personal life.

“These things are not harmless social media engagement. Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing. They do nothing to support her recovery, rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying,” he said.

The lawmaker urged her supporters to discourage the circulation of false reports instead of amplifying them.

He also warned bloggers and other social media users against deliberately publishing fabricated information about the actress, particularly claims relating to her death, health and private affairs.

Nwoko disclosed that such publications were being documented and that those found responsible could be taken to court.

“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels,” he warned.

He reiterated that Daniels deserved an opportunity to recover without being subjected to false reports, public attacks and renewed scrutiny.
