Gunmen have killed a motorist and abducted passengers of another vehicle in Amala Autonomous Community, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.
Police spokesperson Henry Okoye confirmed the attack, stating that the assailants emerged from a bush path, opened fire on a Toyota Highlander SUV, and later kidnapped occupants of a Lexus RS300. The wounded Highlander driver was taken to hospital but was confirmed dead.
Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma has ordered a joint security operation involving other agencies and local vigilantes to track down the attackers and rescue the kidnapped victims. Police and security teams are combing surrounding forests and communities, with investigations ongoing.
