The Nigeria Police Force has declared three individuals suspected to be key financiers and supporters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) wanted in connection with activities linked to the secessionist movement in parts of the South-East.

The Zonal Command Headquarters for the South-East, located in Ukpor, Anambra State, said the suspects identified as Gabriel Faith Mbe, Cletus Ujam, and Chikezie Okoro are being sought to answer questions over alleged involvement in advancing the activities of the Nnamdi Kanu-led IPOB.

According to the police, the three men, believed to be major financial backers of the group, may have gone into hiding or fled the country following intensified security operations targeted at curbing separatist activities in the region.

Previous reports indicated that the suspects hail from Ebonyi and Enugu States and had evaded multiple attempts by security operatives to arrest them during coordinated raids in their respective communities.

One of the suspects, Mbe, is alleged to have played a significant role in mobilizing resources and support for the group’s operations.

The police urged members of the public to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, assuring that such information would be treated with confidentiality.
