The Amalgamated Arewa Youth Group (AAYG) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as deliberate and strategic economic reforms already yielding results.

Representing youths across the 19 Northern states, the FCT, and the diaspora, the coalition said Tinubu’s policies have stabilised the economy, boosted the non-oil sector, and restored predictability.

In a statement signed by its convener, Alhaji Abdul Idi Ladduga, the group praised the elimination of the corrupt forex regime, which it said created a fairer business environment no longer driven by cronyism.

The AAYG also lauded Finance Minister Wale Edun, describing him as competent and innovative, while passing a vote of confidence in his leadership. It urged Tinubu to ignore calls for Edun’s removal, warning that such moves were politically motivated and detrimental to ongoing reforms.

The group further alleged that remnants of the fuel subsidy cabal were behind campaigns against the minister, stressing that restoring subsidy would undermine progress and hurt the economy.

Urging Nigerians to remain patient, the AAYG said the current sacrifices would pave the way for a more stable and prosperous Nigeria under Tinubu’s economic direction.
