A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a strict order preventing the parties involved in the lawsuit filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and three other defendants from granting press interviews concerning the ongoing case.
The ruling came on Friday following a complaint by Akpabio’s legal counsel, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), who accused the plaintiff of engaging in media interviews about the case while it remains before the court. Justice Binta Nyako, who presided over the case, agreed with the submission and stated that no party, including their lawyers, would be allowed to speak to the press on matters related to the case.
Additionally, the court placed a ban on the live streaming of proceedings on social media by any of the parties or their legal representatives.
This development has garnered significant attention as both sides prepare for the next steps in what has been a closely watched legal battle.
