Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs has been laid to rest in Lagos, with family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries gathering to bid farewell to the late screen icon.
The funeral service was held on Friday at This Present House Church, Lekki, Lagos, attracting prominent personalities from the entertainment industry and beyond.
Entertainment entrepreneur and singer Darey Art Alade paid tribute to Jacobs during the ceremony by performing his hit song, Pray For Me, which featured the late actor and his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva.
Jacobs’ son, Olugbenga Jacobs, also presented his father’s biography during the funeral proceedings.
The burial followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island, where Nollywood actors, industry stakeholders, friends and admirers gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the veteran actor.
Several personalities, including members of the Lagos State Government and prominent figures in the entertainment industry, had earlier attended events organised in honour of Jacobs.
Olu Jacobs died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
The late actor was widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected stage and screen performers, with a career spanning several decades.
