The Nigerian Navy has announced the requirements and application process for its 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School recruitment, with the online application portal scheduled to open on October 2, 2026.
The application window will close on October 31, 2026, and prospective applicants have been advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria before submitting their applications.
The Navy warned that each applicant is allowed to submit only one valid application, adding that multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
– Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
– Must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
– Applicants with SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB qualifications must be between 18 and 22 years by December 31, 2025.
– Applicants with NCE, OND, Registered Nurse/Midwife qualifications, as well as Drivers/Mechanics and Sportsmen/Sportswomen, must be between 18 and 26 years by December 31, 2025.
– Male applicants must be at least 1.69 metres tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.65 metres.
– Applicants must be single.
– Candidates must be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
– Applicants with physical disabilities or tattoos are not eligible.
– Candidates must have no previous criminal conviction by a court of law.
– WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE certificates must not be more than six years old as of the application date.
How to apply
Eligible candidates can complete their applications through the Nigerian Navy’s official recruitment portal.
Step 1: Visit the official Nigerian Navy recruitment portal.
Step 2: Create a new candidate profile using an active email address.
Step 3: Authenticate your NIN details and ensure that your name is correctly spelt.
Step 4: Select the appropriate enlistment category. Category A is for secondary school leavers, while Category B is for tradesmen and technicians.
Step 5: Upload the required academic credentials and passport photograph. The passport photograph should be clear and in the required JPG or PNG format, with a file size of less than 100KB.
Step 6: Carefully review the information supplied before submitting the application.
After submission, applicants should print the required documents, including the Summary Slip, Guarantor Endorsement Form and Parent Consent Form.
The Navy advised prospective candidates to provide accurate information and ensure that they meet all eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.
Applicants are also advised to use only the official Nigerian Navy recruitment portal and to be wary of individuals or websites demanding payment in exchange for recruitment.
