Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has denied being a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State Campaign Council, saying she has decided to stay out of politics.
Abraham made the clarification on Thursday through an Instagram Story, following reports that her name was included in the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
The actress said the public should disregard the reports.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she stated.
Her name appeared on a list of prominent entertainers unveiled by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre ahead of the formal inauguration of the Lagos APC campaign council.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate lists Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director, veteran actor Jide Kosoko as Co-Director and actress Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was named Secretary, while Dare Olateju was listed as Assistant Secretary.
Other entertainers named on the list include veteran actors Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola.
Musicians listed include Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Malaika, Osupa and Small Doctor, among others.
The campaign council was unveiled on Thursday ahead of its scheduled inauguration on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Abraham’s clarification, however, makes it clear that she does not accept the reported inclusion of her name in the campaign structure.
