The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has called for unity within the party as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Senator Dickson said he had met with the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and his running mate, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside the National Chairman and other party leaders.
He described the meeting as part of ongoing consultations and deliberations on issues concerning both the party and the nation.
‘Today, I met with our Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and the Running Mate, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside the National Chairman and other party leaders, in continuation of our consultations and deliberations on issues concerning our party and the nation,’ he wrote.
Senator Dickson revealed that the party leadership had met two days ago and again on Thursday to finalise decisions, particularly ahead of the unveiling of the party’s Campaign Council for the 2027 polls.
He appealed to all stakeholders, aspirants and members to close ranks and work collectively for the success of the party’s candidates at all levels.
‘At this critical stage, I call on all stakeholders, aspirants and members of our great party to unite, close ranks and work collectively for the success of our candidates at all levels, from top to bottom,’ he added.
