The Supreme Head of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and Spiritual Father/Chairman of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O), Prophet Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, has died at the age of 93.
His death was announced in an official circular dated July 30, 2026, signed by the Secretary-General of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Anthony Olusesan Samaye, on behalf of the church’s Board of Trustees and members worldwide.
According to the statement, the revered cleric passed away peacefully at about 2:10 a.m. on Thursday at his residence in Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos, surrounded by members of his family and domestic staff.
The circular, addressed to church leaders across the global movement, described his passing as his “Transition to Glory and Called to Sainthood.”
The statement expressed gratitude to God for what it described as “a life well spent,” noting that the late spiritual leader devoted decades to the service of God and the growth of the Cherubim and Seraphim movement.
The church also announced a seven-day prayer programme in his honour, beginning at 5:00 p.m. daily at his residence located at Plot 1, Alogbo Close, off Ahmadiyya Bus Stop, Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos.
Members were urged to remain steadfast in faith during the mourning period while praying for the repose of his soul.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace and may God grant the Church the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amen,” the statement said.
The church added that burial arrangements would be announced at a later date.
Until his death, Prophet Alogbo served as the Supreme Head (Olori) of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and Spiritual Father/Chairman of the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O). Widely known as Baba Aladura, he was regarded as one of the foremost spiritual leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim movement, recognised for promoting unity within the church, strengthening the Christian faith, and providing spiritual leadership over several decades.
His passing marks the end of an era for the Cherubim and Seraphim family in Nigeria and across the world, with tributes expected from church leaders, members, and admirers in the coming days.
