President Bola Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to launch intensified operations to apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, rescue abducted residents and restore peace to the affected communities.
The directive followed Monday’s attack on the village, where about 30 people, including women and children, were reportedly killed, while several homes were razed by the assailants.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President condemned the attack as a “barbaric and cowardly act of terror” against innocent citizens, assuring Nigerians that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
Tinubu said criminal groups seeking to reverse the security gains recorded in Kaduna State would face decisive action from security agencies.
He extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and the people of Kaduna over the tragic loss of lives.
The President reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity across the country, stressing that security personnel had been ordered to pursue the attackers, secure the release of those abducted and restore normalcy in the affected areas.
“Our administration remains unwavering in its commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping our personnel and dismantling criminal networks threatening the peace of our nation,” Tinubu said.
He also appealed to residents of Kaduna and other Nigerians to support security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence that would aid swift responses to security threats.
Tinubu reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property while sustaining efforts to eliminate criminal elements operating across the country.
