Shakira and Nigerian music star Burna Boy have achieved a major global milestone as their FIFA World Cup 2026 official anthem, Dai Dai, climbed to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.

According to Billboard, the song rose two places to claim its first week atop the Global 200 chart while maintaining its position at No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart for a third consecutive week. The achievement makes Dai Dai the first official FIFA World Cup anthem to lead both global charts since their introduction in 2020.

The track recorded 41.5 million streams worldwide and sold 6,000 units between July 3 and July 9, according to data compiled by Luminate.

For Shakira, the feat marks her second No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, following TQG with Karol G in 2023. It is Burna Boy’s first-ever chart-topping song on the Global 200.

The duo performed Dai Dai before more than 80,000 fans during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on June 11.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on July 19, with Shakira, Justin Bieber, BTS and Madonna expected to perform at the inaugural World Cup final halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

On the Billboard Global 200 chart, Ariana Grande’s Hate That I Made You Love Me slipped to No. 2 after spending two weeks at the summit. Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas climbed to a new peak of No. 3, while Michael Jackson’s classic Billie Jean held steady at No. 4. Olivia Rodrigo’s Stupid Song dropped to No. 5.

Outside the United States, Dai Dai generated 37.1 million streams and sold 4,000 units, comfortably retaining its lead on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.

Billboard’s global rankings are based on streaming and sales data collected from more than 200 territories worldwide and compiled by music analytics company Luminate.

The success of Dai Dai adds another international achievement to Burna Boy’s growing catalogue, further cementing the Grammy-winning Afrobeats star’s influence on the global music scene.
