The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has paid a condolence visit to Kano State to commiserate with his Chief of Staff, Mustapha Dawaki, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Binta Bala.

During the visit, Yilwatda expressed heartfelt sympathy to the Dawaki family, describing the late matriarch as a woman whose values and legacy were reflected in the character and public service of her son. He prayed for the repose of her soul and asked God to grant the family strength and comfort in their time of grief.

A statement by Abimbola Tooki
Special Adviser(Media and Communications Strategy) to Yilwatda said Hajiya Binta Bala, 83, died after a prolonged illness. Her janaza prayers were held last Saturday at the Dawakin Kudu Central Mosque in Dawaki Town in accordance with Islamic rites.

As part of his visit, the APC National Chairman toured the Police Private School (PPS) in Dawakin Kudu, an educational initiative established by Dawaki to expand access to quality education in the state. The school, which has grown to more than 700 students in less than two and a half years, is among several community-focused projects spearheaded by the APC chief of staff.

Yilwatda, an academic, commended Dawaki for his commitment to education and human capital development, noting that sustainable progress begins with deliberate investments in knowledge and character formation. He also praised the school’s management and staff for their professionalism and dedication to nurturing young learners.

Residents of Dawakin Kudu and neighbouring communities turned out in large numbers to welcome the APC chairman, underscoring Dawaki’s grassroots appeal in the area.

Yilwatda encouraged continued community-driven initiatives aimed at empowering young people, strengthening social cohesion, and reinforcing the APC’s commitment to people-centred development nationwide.
