The Presidency on Monday dismissed as false a viral report alleging that a kitchen staff member at the State House attempted to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the claim as fake in a post on his verified X handle.
“No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to poison President Tinubu. Please ignore this fake news being disseminated by a video,” he wrote.
Also reacting, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Tope Ajayi, dismissed the allegation when contacted, simply describing it as “fake.”
The rebuttal followed the circulation of a video and online reports claiming that an unnamed chef attached to the Presidential Villa in Abuja had been arrested over an alleged poisoning plot.
The Presidency said there was no arrest, investigation, or security breach linked to the rumour and urged the public to disregard unverified information capable of causing unnecessary panic.
