The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the family of late industrialist, Chief Adekunle Ojora, at their residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, describing him as a devout Muslim who consistently promoted religious harmony in the country.

Ojora, who died on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93, was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

During the visit, the First Lady said the late Otunba of Lagos left behind a remarkable legacy of unity, wisdom, and unwavering support to family and nation.

“You have always been in my mind and that of the President. We cannot forget him. He was always there with us as a family. This is also my family,” she said.

She added, “We will miss him—his wise counsel, support, and the great role he played in times past.”

The First Lady was received by the deceased’s daughter, Toyin Saraki, and her husband, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and herself, Mrs. Tinubu offered words of comfort to the widow of the late industrialist, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, commending her for her strength as the matriarch of the family.

“Your relationship as a couple was an inspiration to many of us. We see you and him, and many wish to have that sort of bond,” she said.

Recalling her encounters with the late Ojora at church services despite his Islamic faith, the First Lady noted that his actions reflected his commitment to interfaith harmony and national unity.

She said the family had every reason to be proud of the legacies he left behind—not only as an accomplished industrialist but also as a bridge-builder across religious lines.

Members of the Ojora family, led by the matriarch, expressed appreciation for the visit and offered prayers for the continued success of President Tinubu and his wife.

The condolence visit was signed by Busola Kukoyi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
