Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, have departed Abuja for Chile to begin a 12-day final training camp ahead of the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup.

The seven-time African champions, who trained in Abuja for several weeks, left on Sunday evening aboard a Turkish Airline flight from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The contingent of 20 players and 11 officials will connect to Santiago through Istanbul, while midfielder Daniel Daga is expected to join directly from Norway.

Nigeria will play all Group F matches at the Estadio Fiscal in Talca, about 250km from Santiago. The team will face Norway on September 29, Saudi Arabia on October 2, and Colombia on October 5.

The 24th edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup will hold across Santiago, Rancagua, Valparaiso and Talca. Nigeria, twice runners-up in 1989 and 2005, reached the semi-finals at the last edition hosted in Argentina.
