Police Arrest Eight Over Cult-Related Killings Near Yaba College of Technology

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement in cult-related killings around Yaba College of Technology and its environs.

The arrests, carried out on April 29, 2025, followed a coordinated, intelligence-driven operation by the Command’s tactical operatives.

According to a statement from the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects are linked to multiple violent cult incidents in the area. Recovered during the operation were one Beretta pistol, four rounds of 9mm ammunition, a cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses.

The suspects have been identified as:

Adeyemo Abdulsamad (24), aka Cloud

Afeez Enitan (28)

Ayomide Daniel (30)

Olamilekan Adeagbo (26), aka Skinny

Mayor Samson (28)

Basit Ishola (20)

Quadri Sikiru (26)

Mariam Salihu (23)

SP Hundeyin confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the suspects’ involvement in cult activities and other related crimes.

“The Command assures the public that those found culpable will face the full weight of the law,” the statement said.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, praised the swift execution of the operation by the Command’s tactical teams and the Eko Strike Force. He also urged the public to remain alert and report suspicious activities for timely police intervention.

Jimoh reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the state.
