Rose Idibia, the mother of Nigerian music icon 2Face (Innocent Idibia), has raised an alarm, urging Nigerians to help her plead with Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State lawmaker, to leave her son alone. In a video that went viral on Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia claimed that 2Face is not in his right state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from his wife, Annie.

In the video, Rose Idibia said, “Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son. My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses right now. I know my son well, and that’s not him. Please, Natasha, remove the beads you put on his hand and neck and free him.”

This comes after a viral video captured 2Face proposing to Osawaru, with the two dancing and embracing each other. The video sparked further rumors about their relationship after 2Face confirmed it publicly, stating his intention to pursue a future with Osawaru, following his separation from Annie. The speculation was fueled by 2Face’s recent visits to the Edo State Assembly and a video showing them together at a club in Lagos.

In a response to the swirling rumors, 2Face took to Instagram, saying, “I’ve seen so many people spreading false narratives and malicious stories after I posted what I posted. Yes, I posted it. Hon. Natasha has been dragged, called all sorts of names, and labeled a homewrecker. But she is a young, brilliant, and amazing woman who had nothing to do with what’s happening between me and Annie. Yes, I love her. She’s amazing, and I want to marry her.”

Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, represents the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She was elected in April 2023 and hails from the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
